2008 Lakeside Estates Overview

Another year has come and gone and we thought we should give you a quick summary of 2008 in case you blinked (like I did) and missed most of it. How time flies…

Your Neighborhood Association Board secured vendors last year to help maintain and improve the common grounds in our neighborhood with some great results and as always, a few disappointments too. We have changed vendors on those we did not get the results we had hoped for. Hopefully, we will see much needed improvements.

The front entrance lights were adjusted last spring to ensure that the light sensors continued to work properly. If you remember, we went through a phase where I think the lights were off more than on. I believe this issue is resolved.

The Park continued to get its normal lawn mowing and fertilization treatments, which looked pretty awesome throughout 2008. We elected not to do any park equipment replacements this year as we felt the budget would not accommodate it. The budgeted money was set-aside in a capital improvements reserve. These funds will be added to this year’s budget. We can now correct several items at the park. Look for those to happen in late spring and summer.

The neighborhood retention pond was inspected for algae growth and was kept to a minimum this past season even though the water levels remained low much of the time due to a very dry summer.

The City trimmed our trees throughout the neighborhood again this year to ensure sidewalk accessibility and safety for all our drivers.

Once again, we had a great turn out for our Neighborhood Picnic with GREAT FOOD catered in from “Chewies’ Grill” (which I just heard just recently closed). We will do our best to find similar quality this year and look forward to an even bigger turn out this season. As always, the kids had a blast playing games, winning prizes and enjoying take home treat bags.

Notes for 2009

The bridge at the Northwest corner of the subdivision on 216th street will be closed for an undisclosed time period in 2009 or 2010 for repair work. Watch for notices. We will relay information on the website as we become aware of it.

Please remember, that parking on the street should be limited. Please use your driveways as much as possible. It is difficult on our narrow streets for buses, emergency vehicles, snow plows, etc. to get through. Vehicles parked in the streets should not take up permanent residence there. The Noblesville City Code states that vehicles must not be parked on streets more than 24 hours at a time.

Mark your calendars for the Neighborhood Garage Sale on April 30 -May 2 with a rain out date of May 7 – May 9

Our Neighborhood Picnic is scheduled for September 27th from 1-4 pm

The General Meeting is scheduled for June 25th at the park beginning at 7:00 pm

As always, please check out the website periodically for updates: www.LEHOA.org

Thank You

LSE Board President
